If this sounds like your idea of fun then you will love the next installment of Twisted Metal for PS 3.
One of the longest running playstation exclusive game franchises, the 2012 release has the makings of a cult classic.
Twisted Metal, in concept, is a demolitian derby with a post apocolyptic flavour.
The eight installment of Twisted Metal has been developed by Eat Sleep Play and is available exclusive on PS 3.
The game focuses heavily on multiplayer combat (somebody has been listening), including various online game modes with up to 4 player split-screen and 16-players online. For example, the Nuke Mode is a new online game mode where you choose a faction to play against an opposing faction. In this mode, each faction has a giant metal statue that is being held in the air by a helicopter, which the opposing team must try to destroy. In order to destroy these statues, the player must abduct the enemy team’s leader, then sacrifice the leader to a missile launcher that will, in turn, launch a nuclear missile.
As far as characters go you have a choice between Sweet Tooth (The Clowns), Dollface (The Dolls), Mr. Grimm (The Skulls) and the Preacher (The Holy Men).
For weaponry you have a choice of
Ballistic projectiles, machine guns, mines and even coffins.
Vehicles in the game include, Death Warrant (a Ford Mustang), Roadboat (a Cadillac look-alike), Reaper (a motorcycle), Vermin (a rodent catcher van), Meat Wagon (a medical 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Combination Car, and Talon (a helicopter). The game will, of course, have Sweet Tooth’s iconic ice cream truck, which transforms into a mecha-robot. Axel, a vehicle consisting of two giant wheels, also returns as a pre-order exclusive which appears to be one of their focal points in their marketing campaign.The two main teams, clowns and the dolls, both has a story. Sweet tooth wants to kill the one woman to escape. And dollface is a woman who’s face was smashed up and wants it back.
To sum it up, if you love your carnage and mayhem served in spades than make sure you add Twisted Metal to your gaming library.
